# Run your first useful Aroai task

Create a workspace, connect over Streamable HTTP and search a New Zealand business using a compatible MCP client.

Canonical: https://aroai.com/docs/quickstart/

## You will need

- An Aroai workspace. Researcher includes 1,000 credits each billing month.
- A client that supports remote MCP over Streamable HTTP.
- OAuth or an Aroai API key supported by that client.

## Create or open a workspace

Start at app.aroai.com/signup, or sign in to an existing workspace. Workspace membership controls which tools are available.

## Connect to the server

Use the combined MCP endpoint. Claude Code's command is shown here; follow the matching guide for other clients.

```text
claude mcp add --transport http aroai https://mcp.aroai.com/v1
```

## Authenticate safely

For OAuth, follow the sign-in flow your client discovers. For an API key, create one under API keys in the portal and keep it in protected client credentials.

```text
Authorization: Bearer aroai_live_YOUR_SECRET_KEY
```

## Discover and run the task

1. **List tools** Ask your client to discover Aroai tools. The list reflects workspace access and client support.
2. **Search** Call nzbn_search with a business name you want to research. Its required query is at least two characters.
3. **Review candidates** Check candidate names and identifiers and resolve ambiguous matches.
4. **Open a record** Use an actual returned 13-digit NZBN in nzbn_get_entity, following the discovered schema.
5. **Check the result** Keep returned fields and missing information visible. A connected indicator alone does not complete the task.

## Example request

```text
{
  "query": "AroAI Limited",
  "limit": 10,
  "detail": "standard"
}
```

## If it does not work

Check the endpoint and authentication first. Then confirm workspace access, tool enablement, client feature support and remaining credits. A no-match result is valid; do not invent a business record.
